2024-06-10 Great day at Moiser

The forecast was for wind all day so we weren't in a rush.  I made breakfast and caught up on the blog.

Louise still has a very sore shoulder and has trouble lifting her arm above her head.  She is going to her doctor as soon she gets home.  The last couple of days, I have been helping her by pinning up her hair and putting it in a pony tail.  Who would have ever thought she would appreciate my hair styling skills - who would have thought I had any.....

We stopped at Sailworks and had a great chat with Jim, Dale, Bruce and their new sales/shipping guy Ben!  Great to see everyone!  Of course I couldn't get out of there without spending some money - fortunately only a couple of hundred for a new quick connect for my Kraken foil.

We arrived at Moiser around 11:00.  I wouldn't say the place was deserted, but there weren't many people, and most of the people there were packing up after a morning session and heading to work.

I went out on my 4.5 and 799 foil and had a great session - sailing by myself for most of it and enjoying the glassy swells.

Louise was attracting attention taking photos, with several people asking if she could get photos of them... One asked if she sold the photos... she probably should have said yes, but....

After lunch I went out for a second session - still on my 4.5, but I switched to the 899 so I could still get going in the lulls.  I had lots of fun doing "S" turns, riding/following a single wave all the way down the beach on the inside.

Ross arrived and was just heading out as I came in!  He was on his 5m and said he was a bit over powered.  I had a short rest and then went out again on the same rig.  I had fun chasing Ross a few times doing wave rides together, but he is faster than me, so out paced me after a few turns.  Nice to be sailing with someone I know!

We both came in around 3:30, but then Ross took his 4m Kite and went out for one more quick session.

Today was probably my best session of the spring!

We packed up and headed back to the Condo to watch the Oilers Game.  Exciting, but.......

DAMN!

After the game, Ross drove us to Mugen Noodle House for supper.  It was excellent as usual!
