2024-05-05 Day 3 at Ted's Place
| Andreas - ready to go on his 10m Kite! |
Blaine, Ross and Andreas all arrived at around 2:00, just as the wind picked up. The wind was from the South East, which is a good direction - right down the lake.
I was ready to go, but Louise said she would give it a miss because of the cold water... I think she is missing Mexico. She did say she would take some photos! Thanks Louise!
We hummed and hawed trying to figure out what to rig as the wind was a bit up and down.
Blaine was first out on his 5.2, and was off foiling as soon as he got away from shore. I was ready to go, but hung back so I could launch Ross and Andreas. (Those Kiter guys are a needy bunch).

They launched from the neighbours' yard again, which works really well, other than for their Auto Mower which was going back and forth, and always seemed to aim for whoever is on the lawn.
Ross went out on his 7, and Andreas on his 10. Both had a great session.

I headed out on my 5.5 wing, and 899 foil, but it wasn't quite enough. I got going a few times, but always came off foil in my jibes. After a few reaches, I came back in, and then went out again on my Cabrina 8m wing. That worked well, although my GPS watch had "paused" so I don't have a record. When I came in and went to save the run on my watch, it was asking me if I wanted to resume... darn....
We quit around 5:00 as the wind holes seemed to be getting bigger, although it did pick up again.
We had a great session on the patio, de-briefing. Even Louise joined us! No hot tub, like at Brad's, but lots of beer, supplied by Andreas, and snacks brought out by Louise. It was almost 7:00 by the time everyone left.
It was still blowing when I went down to re-rig my stuff; but after a few beer, I decided I had better not go out, so came back up the hill and cooked supper for Louise instead!
Great Day!
