2024-04-27 Day Two for the Boys
| Andreas! |
Today was a Windy and Cold day. Well, it was windy, and then not windy, and then windy.
Andreas called to ask if I was around - as he and Ross might come out. I said I was, but I had to leave by 3:00 for our Rotary 100th-Year Gala Celebration. They were welcome to come out - no guarantee on the wind.
Ross, Andreas and Blaine arrived around 1:00. The wind was up and down, and it was pretty cold. We hummed and hawed for a while.......
Andreas rigged and went out kite foiling on his 10. Blaine went out on his windsurf-foil & 5m sail. After a few runs, they both came in, way over-powered.
The sun came out and it started to get warm. Ross rigged his 7, but then changed to his five and went out. I managed to get one photo of him, and then he went way upwind and out of photo range...

Blaine also rigged smaller and went out again. I did manage to get photos of him.
Andreas went back out on his 10. Andreas loves the Camera, so I didn't have any trouble getting photos of him. The only problem was with the time of day - I was shooting right into the sun.
Everyone looked like they were having fun!
Unfortunately I had to be changed into my dress clothes, so I could leave by 3:00 to help set up for the Rotary Gala. They were all sailing as I left, and judging from the wind in town, they must have been able to sail for quite a while!
I sent them a note that there was beer in the garage fridge, and chips on the dining room table.
When I got home at 10pm, I noticed that both beer and chips had been consumed, so I am assuming they had a good sail and a good de-brief afterwards. Great to have them out - I wish I could have stayed, and sorry I missed what looked like a great session! (Louise was sorry to have missed the guys once again..... This time she was away at a craft retreat.)
Next Time!!! More photos on my Flickr site here....
