2024-03-16 Windy Day

 2024-03-16 Windy Day

Ted

After a bit of a slow morning, Louise and I headed to the beach just after noon.

It was blowing 18 to 20 with a forecast to increase later in the afternoon.

Kent was already rigging a 4.8.  He was out, uphauled and gone in no time.

I was still battling my cold/cough, so I decided to wait until the wind "filled in".

I sent Louise out on a 5.0 and her 100L board.  She had some good runs and got up on the foil most runs.  She said it wasn't her best day, but it was good.  She is staying upwind without difficulty and looks really balanced on the board.

I sat and took photos on the beach of Louise and our friends.  Kent even showed up so I could video some 360 attempts, and also get some shots of him NOT Falling....

Our friend Robby Stewart, the pro Kiter sailed past on his Kite Foil, and saw my camera, so put on a show.  Wow! He makes it look like a ballet of some sort - so smooth!

The wind never did really increase as promised, but it did remain pretty steady, so I went out on a 6m Wing and had a pretty good session for about 10km.  I was still pretty stuffed up and not feeling great, but I think the water did clear my sinuses, if nothing else.  I hope it doesn't set me back!

When I was done, Louise and I packed up and headed up to the Casita so I could lie down, and then work on photos.  Kent was still out, and stayed out until the end of the day.

Our friend and El Sargento Landlord, Victor came for a visit.  He had taken a Kite Lesson today and was pretty excited about it.  The instructor followed him in a Jetski from just before Fig Tree beach, all the way down to Playa Central!  Long downwinder.

We showed him the Party Palace and introduced him to Wyatt, and then showed him our Casita, and gave him some photos I had taken of him on our January trip while he was taking a kite lesson from Mark.

Kent Lorna, Louise and I went to Marlin Azul for supper.  Great as usual!
