| Kent - Chasing Charles! |
At around 11:30, the wind seemed to be picking up a bit, so Louise and I headed to the beach. It might have been sailable, but Louise and I decided to read for a bit. No one else was out from our site, and only a couple of people were out on the water in the entire bay.
After half an hour or so, I decided to start rigging. I rigged the 5m for Louise and the 7m for me.
I took the 7m wing, the 120L board, and the large slingshot foil, and was able to get foiling, although many times I had to pump the wing and board to stay on a foil. I sailed for almost 10km, hoping that the wind would increase, but if anything it dropped a bit. I made a couple of jibes, but wow, is that big front foil and big wing humbling.

| Charles - making it look easy - very efficient! |
When Louise went to go out, she found that the strut had deflated. Darn. Fortunately one of the other fellows had just come off the water with a 5.5. Louise took it out with the 100L board, and did a few reaches, but didn't really get going. She did get right back to the beach.
Louise went for a second session later, using a 5.5 and got back upwind without any difficulty, but still didn't get foiling... just not quite enough wind...
After Louise and I were both in, Kent decided that he would head out. He took the 6.1 and made it work. (He had decided that it was windier than yesterday, even though I had told him that it was lighter....). Charles went out with him. It was fun to watch them chasing each other back and forth - I mean it was fun watching Kent try to keep up with Charles as Charles went back and forth. Charles was on a 4.4m Sail and 88L board. How he could make it work in the light wind, I have no idea, but he is sure good at it. Very efficient. He was even trying tricks like Sail 360's, duck jibes, and a few jumps.
Thomas and his girl friend Laurance both went out. Laurance was able to get out and back, but Thomas put on a show for us, getting going on his small wing, and then dropping the wing and pumping around! Wow!
Laurance came in before Thomas, so I helped her out of the water by taking her board. Actually two of us went to help. We have been trying to teach Thomas that he should be carrying her board for her. It has become a bit of a joke, but seriously, her board is bigger than her!

For a forecasted "No Wind Day", we all had a pretty good sail!
Once everyone was in, Chuck asked if Louise and I would like to go out on his tri-hull. He had a frustrating day with a 6m wing, not being able to get on foil. Louise said she would like to go, so we got it all set up and with help, pushed it out. We had a good sail, although not terribly exciting in the light wind. We weren't able to make much headway up the beach as we usually do, because the wind was more from the North than it usually is when he has the tri-hull out. After about 15 minutes, Chuck decided we should head for shore. There wasn't anyone on the beach when we got back so we wondered how we were going to get it out of the water. Louise went up and found Charles and Thomas, so with them, we didn't have any trouble. We helped Chuck put it all away, and then he decided we should push it up a bit more. By chance, Phil happened to be jogging past, so he helped, but we only moved it another foot or so. We thanked Chuck for the ride, and he thanked us for going with him! I think he enjoys getting out in his boat!
We had a bit of a slow evening. Kent and I drove to the Italian Orgasmo Food Station, and picked up a couple of pizza's and some wine for supper (& learned that they now deliver!). We then played some crib on the deck. Lorna and I rule!!!
Good day.
