Jim - Getting Tuned!

Everyone did their own thing for breakfast. Louise and I drove up to the Las Palmas campground in El Sargento to visit some of our friends from our January trip. We timed it right, as Carol had just finished baking fresh scones when we arrived -so we stayed for tea and delicious English scones with butter and jam… on the beach! Wow!

The wind started to pick up early, and everyone was anxious to go out. In spite of the “local knowledge” that you always wait until 1:00, we were all out on the water, and all struggling to get foiling. Everyone, except Louise, who had two great sessions. She said it was the first time she was actually able to relax out on the water. She said the water is so beautiful, but prior to this she has been so worried about getting back to shore that she hadn’t notice. She stayed upwind without any trouble and got on a foil for a bit on almost all of her reaches.

After being under powered in the first session -
Ted was over powered on his second session with the 6.5,
and then still over powered later on the 6.0. - He still had a great sail!

We all came in for a break, or two, and then around 1:00 the wind started to pick up. It probably peaked around 2:00. Other than Cam, who has brought his own equipment down, everyone struggled a bit at first - getting the equipment properly tuned. Different gear and different location! In spite of that, I think everyone had a great day. Everyone was pretty tired by the time we were done.

After sailing, Louise sat and took photos - and who should walk past, but our friends Steve and Missy Nunn! They are staying in a beach house just upwind of us. They are both learning to Wing! We first met them at Pro Windsurf in 2022.

We all got together in the Party Palace for a few beers, and to chat with the staff and other guests! Such a great place!

Eventually we walked over to Marlin Azul for supper. The service was quite slow as usual, but the food was exceptional as usual! It was a lot of fun talking about the day.
