The drive today wasn't nearly as exciting as yesterday. We watched the gas prices rise through BC to about $1.90. (The cheapest gas prices we saw in Alberta were in the Crowsnest Pass towards the BC end at $1.25. - We filled the Van in Bonners Ferry, and still had over a third of a tank left, so no danger of running the tank dry. The fuel price was $3.45/Gal, which we thought was pretty good.
The cheapest fuel price we saw was $3.25, which was at the EXON at the end of the Rathdrum bypass, just before you turn back onto I90. From there they steadily increased to about $3.99 in Hood River.
We did have some excitement between Roosevelt and Maryhill, on the Washington side of the river, as we followed a transport truck who couldn't seem to stay in his lane. He was either over the center line, or in she shoulder, or very close to the guard rail, or weaving back and forth. A few times we thought we would see a crash. I got past him when we had a rare long straight stretch. I figured it was better to have him behind us..... WOW!
We arrived in Hood River just before 4:00pm. We stopped at AirTime to drop off two wings that I needed to repair, then at Sailworks to talk to Dale, then at Safeway for supplies, and finally at Ross's around 5:00. We found Ross having a beer on his deck We unpacked and then joined him.
We took our bikes to Kick Stand where we had supper which was excellent. We had an interesting ride home in the dark without any lights. I will have to look at getting a couple of lights if we are going to do that again!
Everyone was tired, so we turned in early. Louise and my internal clocks are still on Alberta time.
